Christ is the Way of True Common Sense: A Critique of Atheism is the Way of Common Sense by Madalyn O’Hair (Conclusion of a four part essay)
Conclusion
O’Hair calls upon man to personal responsibility and to love one’s fellow man, but she calls them from an arbitrary position, a position produced by time, chance, and natural evolution. Christ offers a foundation based on the God of the universe, who is revealed to be Good, Just, and Wise. It is quite ironic that the very thing O’Hair calls man to do is most greatly manifested in the personal God as described by the bible. Why she is so reticent to accept the God of the bible is clearly stated in the bible. She cannot accept the truth as it is, therefore she tries to suppress it. She is unwilling to give truth a fair hearing because that truth contradicts her very nature at the deepest levels. My appeal to O’Hair and other atheists is to not limit yourselves to your own relative thoughts, to your biases and prejudices, but come and experience with an open mind what life with God really is and what it really means. Christ truly is the way of true common sense.
