Gentleness and Respect is a resource for those wanting to share the Christian faith with the world.
1 Peter 3:15 says “But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect…”
It is my hope and prayer that as you study the scriptures and observe the world that you will see the great HOPE we have in Jesus Christ. As you search your own hearts and examine areas where they need to be set apart for Christ, I encourage you to share this with friends and family, for this is APOLOGETICS, that when we turn away from idols and trust in the God of the universe, we become a testimony of his grace and his work.
1 Thessalonians 1:8-10 “Your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it, for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us. They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead”
Peter says to do this with gentleness and respect because he recognizes that all believers and unbelievers are made in the image of God. He recognizes that our hope is entirely out of the grace of God not from anything we have done and because we now represent CHRIST.
As you seek the God of the universe, may he bless you and make you a blessing to others.
Blessings,
LL
